Julia Stonecypher, a widow with two daughters, is struggling financially and faces eviction from the bank holding her mortgage. When the bank's vice president, Brian Harding, is injured and forced to spend Christmas with Julia's family, he starts off resentful. However, he is gradually won over by Julia's determination and the warm, joyful atmosphere she and her daughters create.
